Seamlessly Transfer Your Data from iPhone to Android
-
Introduction:
Setting up a new smartphone can be a pain, but switching from one platform to another is downright intimidating, especially if you have a lot of apps and photos. Many people switch from Android to iPhone, but some do the opposite, moving from iPhone to Android in search of more hardware and customization options. If you’re a longtime iPhone owner who wants to explore Android, here’s how to become a green bubble (without losing your stuff in the process).
Before you transfer
- Make sure both of your phones are charged.
- Get a SIM card tool to swap SIMs.
- Set aside some time. Data transfer can take from a few minutes to a few hours.
- Check storage on both your old and new devices. If you don’t have enough storage on the new device, you can choose which data to transfer.
- Samsung devices have other ways to copy data from your old phone
What you’ll need
- USB-to-Lightnig Cable
- Google account
- Iphone
- Android smartphone
- sumsang smart switch app (for transferring specifically to a Samsung Android device)
- Google switch to andriod app
How long it will take
The length of the transfer depends on how many apps and how much data you need to move. For example, I moved a total of 56 GB across four different email accounts, and it took about 30 minutes from start to finish. If you’re transferring 200 GB of data or more, it could take an hour or longer.
- You need an internet connection to copy data from one device to the other. We recommend you connect both of your devices to Wi-Fi.
- You can use the cable or wireless option to transfer data. Both methods support the same data. If you use a cable, make sure that the cable fits into both of your devices. If it doesn't fit, you may need to purchase an adapter.
